I adopted a dog on the internet... I had her send me pics of the dog and a piece of paper with my name on it to make sure the dog actually existed. Well, to make a VERY long story short, I am without a dog and I lost FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS! I payed her through paypal. Is there ANY POSSIBLE WAY that I can get my money back?

I would contact Paypal immediately. It's good that you didn't send her a check or money through wiring. This way you have proof of what you did. You quite possibly could get a refund. Paypal is very supportive of this. Again, contact them by phone, explain the situation and have then assist you with what steps to take next.

You fall under whats called the "Purchase Protection Program" which fights against people scamming.

Paypal is the best solution but you might want to check with local law enforcement also. Paypal might not be able to get the whole amount sometimes they are limited to only 200.00. Read the information they provide on their site and file a claim it normally takes about 2-4 weeks for a claim through them.. Good Luck.

Inform paypal of the fraud and see what they say. They may be able to help you.

go to law enforcement and see if they can trace the paypal account and who it belongs to and have their local authorities to apprend the culprit have a nice day.
