my security alert shows me that my firewall and automatic updates are ON, but my virus protection says it is "OFF" but i have my AVG running.. i cant understand.. how can i fix this

Microsoft Security Center that shows these alerts cannot access the third-party AntiVirus and Firewall settings as some of the vendors encrypt the files to prevent unauthorised access. In a way this could be false alert.

You can't fix that because XP doesn't recognise that antivirus program and because of that you are getting anoying alerts. You can remove them from control panel than security center than CHANGE THE WAY SECURITY CENTER ALERTS me from there you can stop the alerts!!!

Hi. Windows does not recognize all AV or AS programs. If you are sure it's on, relax.

the same way you see it "off" you shold be able to right click on it and turn it "on"
