AVG and avast are both excellent. However if you have to ask this question, you may be the type of user that needs supprort. Neither Avast nor avg give support. All the good paid products give support and after rebate you can get it for FREE anyway. Of the Paid ones, trend (pccillin) and kapersky are the best. DO NOT use the free ones that you get from your ISP, they are stripped versions of real products and are usually worse than nothing at all. Useonly ONE antivirus product, more are NOT better, they actually fight against each other.

Well there are 2 of the best anti virus programs who are free on the net actually: Avast and also AVG

Go to the following link for avast:

http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html
Avast is superb coz the update files are automatically downloaded and also the size of the updats are SUPER LITE maxmum has been mb 4 me.

For AVG go to:

http://avg.antivirus-stop.com/index.asp?s=yuk&a=avg&kw=avg&OVRAW=avast&OVKEY=avg&OVMTC=advanced

AVG is a complete anti-virus software with firewall and everything may say it's a security suite! :p

That's the best you can find actually!
May the luck of the Gods be with you!
