I will try to tell you the specifics so you don't give me advice i have already tried, but anything would be helpful! Okay so heres my problem with the computer. I can't use any scans such as ad-aware, spybot, or anti-virus because they freeze and kick me out of the program. This same thing happens when i try to access certain areas of my computer, scan disk, and defragment. Also my internet redirects me constantly to spam sites. Well my sisters husband helped me with it for a while and he found out theres something called a root-kit on the computer. the specific kind of root kit is called rustock b.
I found removal tools for rustock b. with no sucess and i also tried other root kit removal tools with no sucess. I tried microsofts malicious tool removal with no sucess. Has anyone had a root-kit on their computer? any advice from someone who is knowledgable with computers thankyou.

After i start my computer,I scan it with Ad-aware Se personal
scaner.It is showing me new critical objects on my MRU files.I remove the objects,then restart my computer and scan it again,
and again I have the same problem ,scaner is showing me new critical object on my MRU.what these files are for,may I remove them ?,.Please give me your best opinion.thanks.

I use another scaner , Webroot spy sweaper,and it is showing different results,that my computer is clean.
In addition I scanned my laptop with housecall from trendmicro,and again it finds nothing.
I used to scan in a safe mode,no difference.

For months I've been trying to play the online game Guild Wars, but Norton has been preventing it from loading. My dad is being lazy and has prolonged doing this himself. The problem with Norton is that, at least for me, it is doing more harm than good. It prevents me from installing windows updates, because it disables the internet once they're installed. Also, the version my dad is using is five years old, so it really lacking the best technology available. How can I bypass Norton in order to install Guild Wars, and how can I temporarly disable Norton so that I can install updates without trouble? I think the easiest way would be to discover what the password is, but I haven't a clue how to do that.

Okay so I thought I was downloading some Active X thingy for my pc....and silly me not paying attention!!! It is some incognito trojan called Zlob or something like that! GRRR!! Now I have this stupid thing flashing in my icon tray that wont go away, I went & tried to remove everysingle thing in cookies, removed the program from add/remove programs....ran my Norton's and even that dont pick it up!! Can anyone please help???

Whenever I shut down my p.c. I always get a pop up saying the following: - End Programme RNotification. ServicePollerWND. Programme not responding. It then gives you an option to End Now or to Cancel.

Does anyone know why I am getting this pop up or how I can stop it?

I hit the Analyse button and it said by deleteting files on the right(must be a thousand) I would save 1.5MB
Do I now just hit the RUN button without worry?
Similar with ISSUES button. Do I just hit the FIX button?
