You are seeing a Phishing attempt. Yahoo never asks you to verify your info accept upon a password reset request.

Phishing is a form of Identity Theft. Report it to Yahoo at Abuse@yahoo.com

Mark that email sender as Spam, but keep a Copy becuase Yahoo likes to tell you that you forgot proper headers when they don;t feel like dealing with a problem. It's been a common response from them for years. So having a duplicate of the email to provide them with will make them actually do something about it.

Otherwise they can confirm or deny the emails you are receiving as real or not.

Have never been contacted by Yahoo, when setting up a account they will immediately ask for a different ID or password choice, or sometimes to verify a ID or password at the time you set up a new account. I would highly suspect some one was phishing for personal info and would suggest extreme caution (do not give any personal info). If they did not send you an attachment with E-mail and hopefully you did not open you should not have gotten a virus
Hope this helps
You should contact Yahoo and send a copy of E-mail for them to check out. You can go to customer support on Yahoo home page and also find a direct phone number to contact them ( http://www.Yahoo.com/support )

As others said they will not do this, matter of fact any legit company will never ask you to verify personal information in that manner.
