Is there a way to find out if someone has installed spy software onto my computer? Software that logs keystrokes, emails, chat etc?

Oh, you are talking about keyloggers... If you have such applications on your computer, you risk to give someone all your personal information. You have to use anti-spyware programs. You can get not only keyloggers but other spyware too (trojans, worms and etc.). I found were you can scan your computer online for keyloggers. Out of all the antivirus programs listed or mentioned before- they do not all detect some of the more potentially dangerous spyware/viruses/trojans. As time progresses, these intruders and their makers update and change to bypass most scanners.
BitDefender (in my opinion) tops all. PandaScan has an online deep system scan that you can take to see what may possible be lurking deeper in your main Windows files, like registry/backdoor trojans. Spy Sweeper from Webroot is also quite good. Norton, on the other hand, is one of the most easily passable antivirus programs now, since it is very mainstream in new computers now.
So take your pick, google away and see what you will need to protect your computer. Also, try Stinger from McAfee- it detects a large library of popular trojans.

You have to get a program that protects you computer. Then you do a full computer scan. It's easy. it may take an hour or two. Norton will scan for anything like worms, spyware, viruses, etc. and it will let you know if it finds anything and it will destroy it. Also, if you're surfing the net and a virus tries to get into your computer it will block it or contain it so you could destroy it. I hear Norton is the best that's why I have it. I paid $50 for a year of protection.

If you have a "PC" running Windows, click "Start" and then "Control Panel", then "Add or Remove Programs". This will give you a list of the installed programs. I have seen programs installed that are "Ad Ware" and you can remove them - but make sure you don't remove something that should be there. There are also programs that you can buy that will automatically do this.

Go here, Install Spybot Search and destroy, download the updates, run the scan, click fix the problem, then run the Immunization. Easy. Check for updated definitions once a week or so.
It's free but they accept donations, which I recommend if you can spare it.

well for one way it install ..you see a icon for a prog for spyware on your desktop or you can used the windows programs and look for it if it not there u can used google and type free spyware and install it on your comp same for antivirus there is many to choose good luck..

Try doing a scan with Ad-Aware SE Personal. Make sure it is up-to-date though.
