Whenever I shut down my p.c. I always get a pop up saying the following: - End Programme RNotification. ServicePollerWND. Programme not responding. It then gives you an option to End Now or to Cancel.

Does anyone know why I am getting this pop up or how I can stop it?

Thanx Chez x x

AHA! Now I know I'm not alone with this problem. Yes, I get exactly the same thing when I turn off my computer ... Even weirder is the fact that this doesn't occur every time! I always close my programmes before switching off - yet I get these annoying pop-ups 75% of the time.

I'm wondering if you have Norton Internet Security? The reason I'm asking is, before I installed Norton 2007, this problem never occurred. I've also been getting these nasty 'application error' pop-ups when I switch off; they sort of explode at me with a blunt gripe! None of this happened pre-Norton upgrade either!

Sorry I cannot solve your problem but I really know how frustrating this one is. At least you know you're not alone. Let's hope a real computer expert comes up with a solution!

This is a usual conflict of XP with McAfee Internet security, so, better uninstall it.

or another thing that you can do is goto control panel>>administrative tools>>services

there you serch for PollerWND service in the right list and disable it there only. this would stop the popup at shutdown.

Well, ive had that happen before but only when I force shut down (holding off button til the pc shuts off, not going to shutdown in start menu)

Maybe u could scan for spyware and adware and maybe that will fix your issues.

Best wishes!
