I need to change my virus blocker. I have this cheap one which came when my computer was updated (E-Trust, it came free). Anyways so I want to know the best anit-virus, one which I can try to download at free trail first.

I want it to block against viruses, pop ups, identity theft, hacking, ect. I use AIM, LimeWire, search websites, have a MySpace, and E-Mail so something which you would recommend to keep me protected from anything that can/could come from those sites.

I have XP and my task manager isn't working, it's been like this for a couple of weeks, I am positive I have no virus, and when I type in "taskmgr" in the run dialog box, it says "Another program is currently using the file" and it has the red "X" next to it. I tried CTRL + ALT + DEL and Right-Click -> Task Manager, NOT WORKING, Please help me, thanks.

Has anybody else gotten computer viruses from myspace? I have one that I can not get rid of, even took computer to a pro and it reinstalled itself. Last nite another virus attempted to launch on puter, but virus scan caught it. The stubborn one is win32/zglob or something, other was mspace. So am I just unfortunate or is there a proliferation of viruses on myspace?

which did you think is best? I think both are amazing! But it seems that Ad-aware personal SE removes only spyware and ccleaner can do a lot of things, other than just clean junk both are really great. I don't want to have both installed on my computer so I'm not sure which to keep. What do you guys think?

Just got a new desktop with XP Prof. Haven't used XP before. Have intended to install Norton's Internet Security products but read a snippet somewhere that XP has it's own firewall. I'm wondering if it's better than Norton's. If yes, should I leave it be and can I then selectively install Norton's virusguard, spyware etc. Would appreciate advice.

My husband is an IT person, and I found out he's been reading through my messenger conversations and emails via the computer's temp files. I don't like it that he's doing this. He said he won't do it again, but I don't trust him so I want to make sure I get them ALL deleted daily. I don't understand how he accessed my messenger conversations without my password.

I'm attempting to install the new Panda Software, but it keeps telling me I need to first uninstall "Protector Plus 2000". Trouble is, I can't find it on my computer.

I went through the registry and cleaned out all the "Protector Plus" entries, but still, I keep getting the same message.

What should I do?

In an attempt to download a program that appeared to be genuine Microsoft software covered with genuine Microsoft toolbars, registered trademark signs, I downloaded instead a trojan. I couldn't find it because it was mixed in with all other files and disguished as Window's applications

I'll begin with what I have tried and haven't being successful with

- deleting the files doesn't work because they are reinstalled and reappear back into their folder

- ms dos doesn't want to open up any of these files because they have been blocked

- add/remove doesn't work because it says files are in use by Windows

- Opening in safe mode is not allowed

- Reformating the computer still has the bug within the window files and other program files once Windows is reinstalled. Even after reformating there are 4Gb less than what I should have on my computer

- All antiviral software I have used so far have not detected it, it only warns me that it wants to make contact on the internet

A little over a week ago, I downloaded (oops) a virus from Myspace. I installed Norton Internet Security 2007, which didn't detect all of the viruses. I went to Costco and bought Spysweeper, which has found several viruses. I quarantined them, and my computer started running better. Then, spysweeper said it could update my version with an upgrade. I downloaded the upgrade, and more problems started coming up. The most recent one, which causes the most concern, is an alert on my computer that says there's an ip conflict. Can anyone tell me what is happening, and what I can do about it all?

that junk is just annoying as hell. Is there a way to disable it or something? Or maybe.... a program that hides webcontent or whatever? I don't know. Just some way around it.

I keep getting a pop up balloon which comes out of a yellow warning triangle from my task bar telling me that my computer is at risk and has viruses and spyware...and then advising me to download their product.
We have run 2 antivirus programs one paid for (kapersky) and the other one (Bulldog) which was a free down load but neither has found it.
Does anyone know how we can get rid of this as its doing my head in??
Thanks in advance.
