What is the best way to get rid of this virus for free?

Is there anyplace on the net I can download and buy a virus removal and anti spyware program? I don't trust anything that is free. Help!!!!

I am shortly going to be connecting a computer to the internet via broadband. It was previously connected to the Internet via phone line and so has AVG loaded. (This is now out of date)

Once connected (or before if it is possible) I need to install a Firewall. Can anyone recommend a free one downloadable from the internet? Can I load it on to say, CD via another computer and load it on before I connect ot can I only do it once on line?

I presume the outdated AVG will look for updates and update itself?

I am taking online classes at a local college and need to download word doc files. Our new IT guy at work has decided to block it and Yahoo Music player with Watchguard. I know there has got to be a way around this. I just need to be able to print or view these word documents. I am currently using IE 6.0. Please help. How can I get around this?

I have a Brother 7820N and Windows XP. I connect to the Brother via ethernet. Norton Internet Security Firewall is preventing me from using the printer for printing and scanning; I have to turn off the firewall to use the Brother. How do I configure the firewall so it doesn't have to stay off? I have already configured the IP address or the Brother as trusted. There must be something else I need to configure. Please help!

After you go to Internet opitons and delete forms,cookies,history of webpages do they go to a file for them to be deleted and if so how can I acess this file and how can I delete them for good!?

I run a laptop with a direct B/band connection to the net. l use Win XP Home pk2 I run free Z/Alarm, free Windows care V2, free Spybot S/D and free adaware. l figure it'e better to buy one all rounder. Z/A seems the best bet. Any thoughts

hi anyone help me please.i have had tesco internet security on my computer for a couple of months now.i recieved a balloon saying my virus definitions are 24days old so the other day i had it rescan my computer.After it had finished i was told that i had a Trojan-Downloader.win32.small.atr

So after readng this i decided to download AVG. Had it scan my computer and nothing was found in the complete test. So my question is why does tesco say i have a virus and AVG says no threats found,Please help i am worried about my computer crashing .thanks for your time.
