And then it becomes an identity theft issue. Why is there even sensitive information ON laptops? Sensitive information should be kept on secure servers on-site. Unmovable! Never should it even leave the building!

I am an IT tech responsible for my companies’ network. We have a large number of "black lists" we can add to query incoming spam on email but what is the best ones to use? If I add too many we may not get emails we should - if I don't use the right ones we will get all the viagra and stock quote junk we don't want. Is anyone familiar with this that could help me?

use the internet service/set up an e-mail address with the main provider? I recently purchased a new computer (an inexpensive eMachine). The computer seems to have internet service through Google which I don't really use and I have not set up an e-mail account with Google. I do have e-mail with Yahoo and through Comcast Cablevision which is my major provider/the one I am paying for. Both Comcast and Yahoo already have spyware/virus protection with their service. If I don't set up an e-mail address through the Google account, do I need to install the "temporarily" free antivirus software (or go buy it elsewhere) that the computer keeps prompting me to do?

I have used some protection suite, but none seems to me suitable and all have some sort of drawbacks:

AVG 7.5.x Internet security suite: firewall disabled on every re boot of my pc. unabled to provide real time protection against tracking cookies and spywares, pc slows down during scheduled scan

Mcaffe internet security suity 2007: full of unnecessary warning in almost every command, unable to provide against tracking cookies, slow to automatic update, consumes a huge application memory for many unnecessary actions like hacker watch, online network traffic monitor etc.

Norton internet security suite 2007: pc slows down while web surfing, download speed decreases considerably. slow to downloading auto update

spyware doctor: pc slows down , and even freezes while scanning and its actitive protection consumes a huge amount of application memory that pc takes command action so late.

my pc work is mainly web based. Please suggest a better all in one protection for my pc.

My " winlogon.exe ", got infected by a virus which name is
" Wigon I ", now the question is...how do i clean this virus, when i can't delete or rename winlogon.exe?
I've tried to clean it with nod 32 in safe mode, it detects the virus, and when he cleans it, nod 32 tells me that the virus will be cleaned after reboot. But after the reboot, the virus is still intact, and living....( revives )
What should i do? Any tips?

How do I block access to documents save in a folder. I have several personal word docs (CV, cover letter etc) in a folder in word which I have just realised my boss has access to. I just tried to access her folder which is blocked. Surely there is a way I can block her accessing my folder. Please only post reply if you know how to do it. I do not need to be reminded that as my boss, she has authority to access my pc.

If you have any Net Winner banners or links posted on your site, you might want to remove them. They changed their coding today to attempt installing viruses and spyware on your computer. Here's a screenshot I took.
