I just done a complete Norton Anitvirus scan, there was a total of 60,770 files scanned. Do I need all those files or should I remove them? I don't know much about about what these files are, can anyone advise me what to do or should I contact my service provider?

When you run the scan, it scans every file on your computer...that means that you have 60,770 total files on your computer (including Windows files and program files). You probably don't need ALL of them, because some are probably temporary files and whatnot that are not needed anymore. Run the Disk Cleanup utility (Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools, Disk Cleanup) to get rid of temporary files.

Jewel, you are a jewel. Those files are your files, you definitely don't want to delete them. Those are ALL the files on your system: system files, your personal files, program files, etc. You're lucky to have them so few. An average user can have 200000-300000 of them (depending on how many programs one has installed, how many personal files one has...).

why should you remove them? Does it say they are infected? Norton removes infected files or quarantines them automatically. You are not supposed to delete anything by yourself.
