Active Virus Shield uses the Kaspersky AV program. Kaspersky detects and removes 99.62% of test viruses ( over 1500) during independent testing. Here is the site with the test results:

Since it is provided by AOL many avoid it. This should not be the case. This is completely free with no strings attached by AOL. I know this doesn't sound like AOL but it is true. AOL nearly went under due to old business tactics and have been working hard to correct these and survive as an Internet provider.

Yes there is one that is completely free and is really good with detecting viruses. It is called Avast! Antivirus and the website you can download it from is www.avast.com.

yes but i have a son-in-law that works for dell in Oklahoma city Oklahoma. and he is the one who takes care of all my computer problems and this program will detect a virus and will not let me download anything with a virus it scans everything before i open it . he is there commerical senior programmer. so i just don't worry about it .

I know of some people that hack in to other computers for the fun of it. They say that the only system that gives them a problem is one called 'Panda'. It cost about $30 for two years.

You can download a free antispyware/ virus/trojan version and

It has good downloads to detect and eliminate

i've always used Norton's for over 5 yrs now and it always catches any of my viriuses never had a problem with them
