I am a mother of 5, and after I viewed this I was EXTREMELY MAD...and found out that I DID have hackers on my pc..I was using Norton and AVG. ~Jenn

1.Use either a router (hardware firewall), or a software firewall like Comodo / ZoneAlarm.
2.Regularly scan your computer for malicious software by your anti-virus and anti-spyware. Malicious software can collect user data easily and transfer it to the creator.
3.If you are a Windows XP user, then keep it updated by downloading the monthly security patches released by Microsoft.
4.Disable useless services like Universal Plug n' Play, Messenger service etc. There are some tiny software available at this site for the purpose.
