Here's what you should do.
1st, don't waste your time with AVG, spybot, ad aware, CA, spyhunter, or anything of the sort. Stay away from anything that is FREE when it comes to spyware and antivirus. There is a reason why they free. They are NOT good.
2nd, You need some of the best software out there. Norton Systemworks is very good. That's the only good software from Norton. I wouldn't recommend Norton Internet security, its not that great. Now the best software you should get is Spysweeper with Anti-virus, this software is too good and gets better everyday. It blocks over 170,600 threats. No other software can compete with that or come close for that matter. It catches everything. I've used them all and it is 2nd to none.
3rd, after you install and update the software, since its in your system you will have to turn off system restore and then go into safe mode and run the scan and eliminate the virus. then after removal, reboot and turn system restore back on.
4th, (Optional) I recommend a Firewall from Zone Alarm, their free version is so good. Or you can buy their Pro version, but the free version will do more than the job.
5th, any probs during or after you do all this, send me an e-mail.

I have no doubt that people here will give you great answers on how to remove the virus that is in your computer, if how ever you are uncertain of using any of these things. My brother had gotten a virus in his computer like two or three times. He took his computer into Best Buy where he bought it and they were able to remove them each time. The problem was fixed pretty fast, it is also a good time to have your computer given a tune up at the same time if it hasn't been done for a while.
I'm not telling you not to use any ones suggestions here, so please don't get me wrong. I am only suggesting that it would also be a good time to also have it tuned up. Where they clean out any and all dust/clear out redundant files/footprints cookies/viruses and any thing that will reduce the performance of your computer.
I know that to have my laptop tuned up the cost is $40.00, to me that seems like a good deal since I'm not well versed in doing all of that my self.
Just a suggestion, I hope things work out well for you. Good luck.

First, you need anti-virus software - download, install and update AVG anti-virus (it's free for personal use) - you can find it here - http://www.malwaresolutions.com/tools_anti_virus.html
Then remove your System Restore points (viruses love to hide in the System Restore files), but be aware that if you do remove your existing Restore Points you will not be able to "roll back" your computer to a previous configuration. To find out how to disable System Restore see this page - http://www.malwaresolutions.com/disabling_system_restore.html
Just to be sure you don't have other malware on your computer I recommend that you download SpyBot Search & Destroy and Adware - both are free spyware/adware detection and removal software. They can be found here http://www.malwaresolutions.com/tools_spyware.html
Next, start the computer in Safe Mode - (as the comptuer is starting up, keep tapping the F8 key on your keyboard until you see a special start-up menu) - more on how to start in Safe Mode here - http://www.malwaresolutions.com/how_to_start_in_safe_mode.html
Using AVG - run a full system virus scan while in Safe Mode
After the viruses have been detected and removed, run SpyBot and AdAware (full system scans) then restart the comptuer, enable System Restore again and enjoy a virus-free computing experience.
If the problems are still there, try using MSCONFIG to help figure out how to manually disable the Trojan from starting up - see more about MSCONFIG here - http://www.malwaresolutions.com/how_to_use_msconfig.html
Check out this page for more information on what viruses are - http://www.malwaresolutions.com/what_is_a_virus.html, and this page for how to remove them - http://www.malwaresolutions.com/how_to_remove_viruses.html
For those of you who don't have AVG Anti-Virus yet, go here - http://www.malwaresolutions.com/tools_anti_virus.html
One other thing you can do is to help prevent malware from getting on your machine is to use a more secure web browser (not Internet Explorer, get rid of AOL) such as Mozilla FireFox - http://www.malwaresolutions.com/tools_browsers_firefox.html
To help protect against malware you should install a firewall, Zone Alarm works perfectly well and is free - you can find Zone Alarm and other free firewalls here - http://www.malwaresolutions.com/tools_firewalls.html
Also, don't forget to keep Windows up-to-date - using Microsoft Windows Update!
