Those should be gone at that moment. To be sure, do a disk cleanup:
Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, Disk Cleanup. Select all items for deletion. DO NOT compress your drive.
That will clean whatever is leftover (there are many more files).
If you can install a program like Window Washer, it will kill all your concerned files for you. Here's a comparison of the top ten programs like this:

Those files are deleted and you don't have to worry about them continuing to hang around.
There are other files that can cause performance proplems for your computer if you get a large number of them. These are the Windows Temp files and Prefetch files.
To delete these files exit all running programs(except AV/AS) and close all Browsers.
Go to Start>Run>type: %temp%>OK> go to the EDIT>Select All>in Files and Folder Tasks click Delete the selected Items.
Do the same for Prefetch.

there are programs that offer the ability to "clear private data"
some come as addons/plugins/extentions while some are standalone programs you can run at any time. usually they allow you to select what you want to be obliterated.
if you are on a company, educational, or government based networked computer then you may have other issues as it is becoming more common for these types of establishments to pretty much TAP your computers LOGGINg everything and keeping copies of your files and even temporary files and history of your browsing via caching (storing) directly from a special kind of network router or proxy. if this is the case then what you delete on your computer may still be available to the administrators or staff for their viewing pleasure.
search online for programs that "clear private data" and go from there. if you have more issues as described above then contact me for more help.

Nope, Once you delete them there they are gone. But if you are on a work or school network they most likely track where you go on the web and there is no way for you to change that or delete those logs as they are kept by the IT guys.

Internet stores then in the index.dat file and you need ccleaner to remove it
Install and run CCleaner a freeware system optimization and privacy tool.
. It removes unused files from your system - allowing Windows to run faster and freeing up valuable hard disk space. It also cleans traces of your online activities such as your Internet history.
