if running a firewall and have good virus protection,if your running a program that acts as a server like p2p,etc. you are opening your ports,if you download something ,anything it is a chance to be infected,but not by just clicking a link

i have windows xp with 128 MB RAM. i Installed norton 2005. My whole pc started freezing. Not enough memory. What are the other antivirus products i can use? Avast or AVG? I NEED SPYWARE PROTECTION ALSO.

Whenever I turn on my comp, and go to the task manager there is a program named ".exe" (with nothing before the . ) and my anti-virus programs have detected it to be dangerous. I wish to get rid of it but it still keeps starting up whenever my comp turns on again.
Does anyone know what this file is exactly and how to get rid of it? Once again, it simply appears as .exe in the task manager processes.

when i goto open internet explorer (my homepage is yahoo)i see in the address bar it is yahoo.com but...it changes to another page thats it the safteyhomepage.com i tryed blocking the page(by blocking i meen making it restricted)i used spybot serch and destroy and i ran a scan on norton anti any know why its doing this??? i may need to defrag my computer or something but i donot know how if you know post here please..also if theres a program that makes my computer recover itself or go back a day or something that would work thanks u guys and girls

I have received a SCAM email? How do I report it?

Disregarding the cover story, it's the scam where you cash a mailed cheque and wire the funds somewhere.
It has come from excite.com
How would I go about reporting it?
Or should I just play along and see what happends (for fun)?

Even typing this question is extremely annoying. The computer is running super slow. I noticed that some procesesses such as explore.exe, svchost.exe, nod32.exe, and iexplorer.exe are taking a lot of CPU Usage in the task manager. I would like to know how can I fix this problem. Any suggestions? Thanks

i ask because a friend of mine had hers taken over and the person who took it over sent me a virus, and dont tell me it was just the virus talking because he/she had a conversation with me before sending the virus, and i'm sure it wasn't my friend
