My computer has been clean since I received it, but I must have clicked a site that was run by the hacker. How do I get rid of it?
I have McAfee, but it won't let me delete or quarantine the file.
HELP PLEEEEEEEEEEEASE!

Java/ByteVerify.Exploit is not a virus as such. It is a method to exploit a security vulnerability in the Microsoft Virtual Machine.

Microsoft has a security-patch for this. More info and to download the patch, goto http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/MS03-011.mspx

To clean your present "infection" go to "c:\windows\.jpi_cache\jar" using Windows explorer. Delete everything in there. It's just a cache, so don't sweat it. Voila! I just got rid of it doing that.

Onra (below): It appears in *Microsoft's* java virtual machine, not in Sun System's Java. It is a REAL exploit. Besides, the link you provided doesn't even work.
