The reason you have the pop-ups. is that you have NOT followed the advice of the DHS, USCERT, and switched your browser to ANYTHING to get away from Internet Exploder!

1. Get Firefox! It doesn't have system privileges. Voila, no exploits, and, blocks pop-ups! Gives you tabbed browsing!

2. Run CrapCleaner, to clean your system out!
3. Use SpybotS&D!
4. Run Adaware, by Lavasoft
5. Shootthemessenger closes the open 'Messenger' ports!
6. AVG by Grisoft.com!!! Run with the big dogs!
And, try out the FREE, LiveCDrom, of Linux, with 1900 games, programs. Good enough for Microsoft.com, hotmail.com, and MSN.com on their 15,000 computers, EACH! Virusfree, cracker proof! Installed, it runs 5,000 programs up to 50X faster, on the same hardware!

For the all-freeware solution, the combination of AdAware and Spybot is very good for spyware. Keep your Norton security software up to date of course. If it's only the antivirus version, then also download a freeware firewall like ZoneAlarm. Don't forget to hit the Microsoft update site and make sure you've got all the latest patches, hotfixes, security updates, etc...

hi, adware is a disgusting and infamous virus. perhaps you can try Norton or Mcafee to remove the virus, but you should pay for the software.

i recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can disable all virus to run, because the virus can only run on IE.

besides, firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.

firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.

download firefox for free:

After having a serious Adware problem, someone suggested I use SUPERantispy.com. It was free and it literally found hundreds of viruses and adwares that all the others missed. I was frustrated for two days until I tried this one and it was easy and worked PERFECTLY! I also have Norton and lavasoft but they couldn't fix what SUPERantispy could. Good luck!
