They were using an outdated Symantec product, but I installed the Charter Communications High-Speed Security Suite (F-Secure). They had a recurring virus message before, and now after installing the new security suite, they are still getting a message that the antivirus program cannot disinfect "Packed. Win32. Tibs". What is the best way to get rid of this trojan? Thanks!

I made the mistake of listening to MS support when I had a couple of updates that I couldn't get install. No to bad really but One Care was getting on my nerves with all the messages. SO...long story short the suggestions I received and performed by MS support has totally destroyed my operating system. It is now stuck in an endless loop of restarting and fatal error.I had to install windows on another hard drive just to get this far. I accept the fact that I need to wipe out my other drive and start over but...

I have about 50 pic of my kids that I cant get to copy off the drive. I keep getting an access denied message and I have found out that they were somehow encrypted. SO my question..

how do I get the files off the drive so I can start over?
MS support keeps telling me to go in and set them to be shared. but I cant even get into the system to do it.

The program(s) can either be free or pay for them... Doesn't matter...

If you know please report the amount of RAM and CPU usage (in a %) the programs use when running...

Thanks...

I Inherited a computer that had a constant error message on it from something called Repair Registry Pro. A relative of mine, deleted everything on my computer and reinstalled all updated stuff. I was hoping the error message would be gone as well but it keeps coming back. Now, when it comes back, I can't getr rid of it until I shut down the computer and reboot. Obviously I don't want to have to be doing that all the time. It's annoying. The error message says:

STOP!
SCAN CRITICAL SYSTEM ERRORS
To fix errors please do the following:
1. download registry repair from www.regpro32.com
2. install registry repair
3. run registry repair
4. reboot computer

FAILURE TO ACT NOW MAY LEAD TO DATA LOSS AND CORRUPTION!

What the hell is this and how do I make it go away???????? Please Help!!

Hello I am a protective mother who found explicit porn sites visited, posted ads xxx and xxx email received from the above sites. My 2 teenage children and spouse say they didn't do it. I don't know that much about this stuff. I can't afford a program to help me, is there a free safe tool or download I could use. My neice 15 just got caught in cybersex. If anyone can help me find out my family members passwords I could find out which is interacting to these sites, posting ads, receiving email. My daughter is 15 same age as her first cousin who was just caught in cyber sex. The other is my son 17 and spouse. It scares me to death, you see too many predators on the news. Please Help a Protective Mother find their passwords please. I tried and it says please sign in, password etc. I tried talking with my family and they all get defensive and mad at me. Let me know if there's a good, safe, tool, program, directions on how to find them out. Thank you all for your time. HELP

How can I permanently delete visited sites on my computer? I have used the clear private data button on my browser as well as deleted the temporary internet files folder but whenever I use my google desktop search bar to search for these sites to confirm deletion, the search bar finds these files 'cached' in my browser. How can I permanently clear this cache as I've used the 'clear cache' button but to no avail.

I have a folder on my external hardrive called "Bckup" that I made to, you guessed it, backup some files for myself and my family

But for quite some time I can't access it, I double click and a msgbox says Access is denied

I tried deleting the folder from the cheesy DOS shell
nope
I can navigate teh folder in DOs but that's it, what is it

I've done virus checks and evrything is there something I can do??

Do you know what that is??

My mom gets alot of PayPal email notifications, like to verify her account. But she doesn't even have an account with them. She reports these to spoof @ paypal dot com.

Do they ever take care of these reports at PayPal? It seems like the more she reports these spoofs, the more they happen.

And based on how common these emails are, it's obvious that people can spoof emails of any well known company very easily. Why is that? What more can be done in order be far ahead of the sneakiness of those who do the spoofing?
