Are you kidding!

You should be ashamed of yourself for using Windows 98!
XP is gonna be obselete next year.

What you should be worrying about is software compability. It doesn't pay for most program developers to make something compatible with XP and then restart the development for a 98 machine..

Truly i don't know how an outdated machine would act on security though...

I don't really see the point in panicking,my boyfriend is a professional programmer who works mostly with Win98.He's not worried at all.
On the contrary,you just might try to get accostumed to Win2000 or XP. Not that those are better then Win98.As my boyfriend tells me the only difference between the two is that it's somewhat harder to write programes with XP.

if your computer is working fine without any problems.. I wouldn't worry about the updates..personally I run windows XP and I don't use the windows website to do my updates...
