Nortons is going to charge me $100.00 to fix the problem and I feel it is their fault, it should have caught this , why else do I have this on my pc, someone please help me. It is a browser hyjacker and virus.

it did'nt go in right it had error so i had to take it out now my disk want go back in, to reinstall Norton AntiVirus where to i put my Product key to get it to start.

When I use Firefox to go to the yahoo mail login page, I get a lock with a red line diagonally going through it in the address bar. But when I refresh it the red diagonal line goes away.

Is it secure when the red line appears? Why is this happening?

our computer runs slower and slower. We have a virus in geeba that we can't get rid of. Cox security seems to do very little to keep all this trash off my computer.

I have spybot: search & destroy, Adaware SE, yahoo anti-spy & of course mcafee anti-virus on my XP system. My question to you is, that do I really need yahoo anti-spy ??

I was thinking of removing it, as I already have 2 anti-spy's & an anti-virus.

Help! I can't change my internet homepage! Even After I changed it in Tools>Internet Options>General Tab>Homepage, it sill went back to the old homepage which I didn't want! Is it a virus? yesterday my pc was under attack from the virus trojan.lowzones. i have norton anti-virus protection and the action taken was the file was automatically deleted according to the software report. my partner did a system restore and took the computer back 24hrs in time. everything seems fine BUT my recycle bin icon is showing that files are waiting to be deleted but when you open the window nothing is in there! the option to empty recycle bin is available and when clicked it say "ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT TO DELETE 'WINDOWS'?" Im frightened to say yes incase i delete windows which i obviously need and i am frightened to restore item incase it is a virus......... Does anyone understand what is going on???? PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

Now this is just an honest question, and I'll provide an example as well. Is there any use in tracing an IP address? Say a hacker hacks someone, software such as the new mcfee security software will allow you to "trace" the IP address to a particular region of the world.

I'm not quite sure I understanding the reasoning of this, since IP address are of course not the physical addresses of the machine on the network (the MAC address), and both can actually be spoofed with directions you can download from the Internet As well as hackers can hijack machines, and let the hijacked machines do their dirty work for them, so the IP address you would be tracing to, would be just a "zombie" machine, and not the hackers machine.

So what exactly is the point of IP address tracing (over the Internet)?

And no I seriously don't mean on a local network to find out if your connected to the right phsyical port.

I have seen that people have asked about this and I know that the error message is actually spyware, I just dont know how to get rid of it. I ran two antispyware programs and they found tons of spyware and removed it but it is still there. The main problem I have is that I cant get onto the internet and I think its because of it so I cant download any antivirus.
