If your using windows xp you can encrypt files in your profile and anyone else that tries to log in to your machine will not beable to access the encrypted files.

Here is how:

1. right click on the folder you want to protect, then click properites

2. click the advanced button
a "advanced attributes" dialog box will appear

3. check the "encrypt contents to secure data" box

4. click ok
the properites dialog box will appear again

5. click the apply button
a "confirm attributes changes" dialog box will appear

6. click the "apply changes to this folder, subfolders and files" option

7. click ok

it will start encrypting your files

the folder and subfolders and files should be green when encryption is complete

In Explorer, find the folder and right-click on it. Click on Sharing and Security. Click on the box, "Make this Folder Private" which will let only you view the contents of the folder.

I have been researching for that, too to secure my files and folders. You need to download a software but of course you have to pay for it online or buy a software near your area coz there are many freewares here on the net but with limited features only.

when you find that out, let me know! I can only do it with javascripts on Windows 98 and window 2000!
