Use the software below after removing any P2P software.
I do not recommend using Limewire or Kazza or any P2P programs because they ALWAYS contain spyware / adware and I have repaired many computers because of the other programs they download in the background with out your knowledge. It's like opening a floodgate and they eventually clog your computer until it's useless.
I use bit torrent.
The speed is determined by not just you but the other users. They might have a slower speed, or there could be heavy traffic (your end or theirs) slowing it down.
Some times other users sending you files log off and your stuck waiting till the next day when they log on again.
There are so many possibilities.
I have had a few 700MB movies take over a Week to get it all, and some never finish because when the other person is done they stop sharing.
Hope this helps, and remember to share at least 110% or for one week which ever comes first to help others.
The best Anti-virus is: AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition. (www.grisoft.com)
The Best Spyware defense is: SpyBot Search and Destroy (www.spybot.info)
AND: AdAware SE (www.lavasoft.com)
AND Spyware Blaster (http://www.javacoolsoftware.info/kb/)
The best Firewall besides the one that comes with Windows is: Zone Alarm (http://www.zonelabs.com/store/content/co... or just (www.zonelabs.com) and select the FREE version.
These are all FREE and are all that are required. There is no reason to pay for this kind of software, except to give a donation to the writers if you can.
ALL the above programs are recommended and should be run on a regular basis. With some the free versions they must be run manually.
The best way to avoid getting any Malware (virus, Trojan's, spyware, etc) is to practice safe computing. Microsoft and many others have countless articles on the subject of safe computing. (something I think should be taught in schools)

When ad remove programs does not work, you have to uninstall manually, One way is to go to C: Program files, find the program, open it and uninstall all the components. I have found going to search under the start menu, bringing up the program and deleted all the files works in some cases.
I use Symantes Internet Security 2006. The choice of an antivirus program will get an argument, though. I do not recommend McAfee, though.

Here's what is time saving,..., do an online scan from panda anti virus ACTIVE SCAN....It'll solve everything, and it's very fast, very comprehensive, and much much faster than trendmicro...or any other online scanners...it's very small, and involves only a small download.
morpheus,..., do the reinstall na after the virus scan....
then use morpheus to get mcafee,..., the most comprehensive solution..BUT NEVER log into the net without ANTI VIRUS & FIREWALL...

go now to http://housecall.trendmicro.com/
Free scan that will take care of most of it.
Then download pc-cillin from them. It is one of the best AV / AS programs out there.
