There are several answers to your question. There are those that specialize in the practice of penetration testing (aka... hacking) in order to assess the security posture of an organization. There are folks who assess the security settings and logical security controls of the various computing platforms that company's run their business on z/OS, AIX, Solaris, Windows, AS/400, etc. And there are still others who examine an entities physical security regarding the data center, tape storage areas, wiring closets, and server racks in addition to back up systems, back up tape rotations, and off-site storage. There is a lot involved in the securing of a large scale computer environment.
