Target has an I pod in their sale flyer today, and I am trying to decide how much money to spend since my kid has asked for one. How do you decide how much money to spend?

what is wrong with an Hp s7200 model when it begins to smell VERY strongly of burning electrical components. I have opened it up and nothing IS burning. i suspect it it is from the heat sync or power supply But i am not sure where exactly.

Every once in awhile we get a message up on our computer screen that says you are low on Virtual Memory. What does that mean?

Ok .. I have the box open - I want to replace the hard drive (which has failed) with an old one from another machine (which I know works) but - (and this sounds sooo dumb - but here goes..) I think I have found the hard drive (is it the thing with the cable marked HDD plugged into it? - yellow red and 2 black wires??) Near the front of the machine?? - And my next question is - I know there is 2 hard drives in this machine - How do I know which is the primary to replace it?

Many many many thanks to you guys ..

after using a recovery disk..the same problem occurs. When I get the black Windows screen with the blue bar at the bottom..it goes to a blue screen for half a second (can't read it)..and then the laptop restarts. I can sometimes get it to load up by selecting 'last config that worked' only when it lets me get the selection page...or if I press F12 to select my harddrive so that it will work.

This happens frequently..but sometimes i'm able to start my laptop up with no problem.

I'm considering sending it to the a service provider since it is still under warranty. But if there is a way to fix it myself..i will

This one baffles me. I have a P4 Mainboard w/ Pentium 4, 2.4. Stuck it in the closet when I built my new comp. The drives & memory were loaned out never to return. The processor never left the board. 6 months later I'm putting it back up for my sister. I installed new memory (512), new Maxtor 200gb HD, CD R/RW, and floppy. Trying to install XP Home but it is just crawlling along. I mean super slow. My new comp took less than 30 mins to install XP. My old comp has been at it for over 3 hours. It's installing, but at a snails pace. Has anybody had this type of problem that can maybe offer some insight as to why this is happening and what I can do to make it giddy up? All replies appreciated. Thanks.

I've got a Pavilion 7970 which i believe has a 200W power supply! I've added a new sound card, tv tunner card, usb port card, second hard drive and a dvd writer, now i looking to upgrade the graphics card.
Several reviews say the cards draw loads of power e.g GeForce 7600 , Radeon 9600.

Can any one advise me on a suitable graphics card for gaming with my existing power supply or if i can simply upgrade my power supply, i.e. is it iterchangable with other off the shelf models.

I bought Neverwinter Nights 2, and my graphics card is apparently, not good enough to handle this kind of superior game.

Are their any updates i can get online to make it run better? Or do i have to go buy a new card? I know i have enough Ram, i have more than enough, but how can i improve my graphics?

(I have an hp pavillion, Windows XP home addition)
