I'm hooking up my cam and yes I have software.I've tried removing the cam then reloading and still get code 10.What's the deal?What is code 10?

As the code error is probably unique to the make and model of camera you are installing, and the software for that particular camera, it is impossible to guess. (Especially since you did not list make/model and software name). Try checking the web site of the camera manufacturer, they may have a solution or a way to ask them for assistance.
