I put a cd into the drive and it was working fine but then i heard it crack and i tried to open the door. it would't open so I manually opened it and took otut he particles. I didnt touch anything. I hooked it back up and the door still won't open. any suggestions, this is urgent!! plZ!!

You may not have gotten all of the pieces out, the only way to be sure you got them all, is to remove the drive from the computer, and disassemble the drive. Have someone experienced do the job.

Turn off the computer after you open the CD tray, and unplug it. Open the case, ground yourself on the case and remove the CD drive. Then try blowing the remaining fragments out with canned air while holding the drive upside down. Reassemble and test.

A lot of CDROMs have a small hole on the front of the drive. You straighten out a paperclip and stick it in the hole and the tray will manually open.
