My daughter place her foot on the table & this pc hanged !!!
I rebooted the machine & now, it's gone.
The situation is:
1. No POST, nothing on monitor
2. No Beeps
3. I hear 3 Beeps when I remove the RAM
4. Power LED, HDD LED, motherboard & network LEDs : ON
5. Fans: working
6. sequences though usual CD, floppy, HDD (possibly) cycle ..

It's a D845EPT2 motherboard with a P4 & a 300W suppy.

What's gone wrong here ?

I use reason and adobe audition for podcasts, music, etc.

I had planned on just buying a decent USB mic for $60 or $70, but I went to the music shop and they tell me that everything will sound much better with a regular mic through a mixer that hooks up to my USB input. Is this true? With the programs I've got, wouldn't a USB mic sound just as good or close to as good?

OK so my friend gives me a Chinese webcam she bought in China. I install it and after very slight difficulty it workes fine. Time passes. Somethings happens to my comp. (we might have reformatted it) and the webcam gets uninstalled. So I simply reinstall it but I can't find the installation disc so I just install it w/ InstallShield. I go to use it and it is dead blurry-like total blur!!! You can't tell my hand apart from my face. So I uninstall it, find the hardware (Finally!), and reinstall it. It is the same-dead blurry. Also it keeps wanting to be reinstalled. It acted like I had never installed it. Does anyone have any tips?? It went from acting fine to acting busted w/ no harm to it that I know of!! Thank you so much!!!!

I have a Tarka Removable Disk, the ones where you can put stuff in it and take it anywhere.Well mine says it is Write-Protected and won't let me delete or anything to it til I remove the Protection. I really don't know how to remove the write protection and need help. I really need help fast. Oh and I WILL NOT call a person to fix it.

i have all these tv shows on itunes and i want to burn them onto a cd but in order to do that, i need to either buy a dvd burner. do you know of any good.. would have to be external.

also, would anybody know how to put them onto a cd burner. lol. i'm not very good at this kind of stuff.

I have a Dell with only a 300W power supply. However since it only has a small 80GB HD, a dvd burner and no external connections I wouldn't consider it fully loaded. Therefore could this card run on a lower power supply?

I have 900mb ram normaly, 1of the 3 sticks is not pluged in properly so it is now 600. I always have around 300mb left.does it only affect my computer if the number goes towards zero? or should i plug it back in and it WILL imporve the computer's preformance?

I want to combine 2 or more computer, so my PC have more speed to process anything, like encode-decode movie or just to edit some picture with photosop , etc.
I've tried to use some clustering software like Beowulf, windows clustering, linux clustering, but it just for web server and database management, and sometimes we must build a software under CxC :(
I think it's very 'impresive' to use regular windows software in 'SuperComputer'

I plan on opening a ebay store & in turn will need to buy a Digital camera for down loading items .
What is the most economic with the best low price,and camera brand should i be looking at ?
I do not want to pay big money out,i just want simple pictures & simple down loading procedures ?

I'm not a hardware buff so it might just be a misunderstanding.

Old computer runs great, usually good without any probs. for a month or two. Then all of a sudden it freezes then reboots itself, before it freezes there's a clicking noise coming from the comp. which I'm pretty sure the clicking is coming from or some way connected to the hard drive. When I hear that noise I know the computer is about to crash - freeze, then reboot itself. After it reboots it detects no hard drive, tried rebooting but still no hard drive detected. This doesn't happen to often, when it does I usually have to format hard drive and install everything.
I noticed by unplugging the ribbon from the hard drive and then pluggng it back, that it fixes this odd prob., runs great for a month. When it happens again I just reconnect the hard drive. My cpu temp is fine, all new cables and ribbons. New 80gig hard drive, had 256mb/added 512ram, its been a prob for 3yrs beside that it runs great. any idea?

I keep getting this blue screen of death.

I have done a lot of research into this error about my memory chips, and still lost.
I have replaced all my ram ecc chips, "expencive option" 4Gb, and still get this message.
I have even thought it was the system memory, but compaq says that its not a problem of the Proliant Server series.
I am lost!!
Any suggestions on how to fix this problem.
Help much appreciated.
