I am building a computer and I am wondering what I can build for about $1,000. I need some kind of idea of what I can get for $1,000 - $1,200. I was thinking of the websites newegg.com and tigerdirect.com. If you could please help me, that would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know if ZipZoomFly is any cheaper. I have shopped A LOT to build the two computers that I have. I ended up buying the majority of my componets from newegg.com. They have sales on the weekends, a really good time to shop for your parts. Look for the rebates. Tiger Direct is also a good place to shop parts. They have shipped me parts that were not correct, but they have replaced them with something that was as good as or better and shipped to me the very next day. Their advice over the phone is pretty good too. Here is what I built for you at newegg.com for $726.64 less shipping cost to your home. Not too shabby!

you would be better going and buying a custom built computer. You can usually get them at any computer shop and they usually come with a decent warrenty. I know the shop i work at specializes in custom built computers. e-mail me if you want some sample specs and prices. csickles@dialpce.com

I would try http://zipzoomfly.com as they have better prices than newegg or tiger direct and ship most items for free.
