I have a Dell with only a 300W power supply. However since it only has a small 80GB HD, a dvd burner and no external connections I wouldn't consider it fully loaded. Therefore could this card run on a lower power supply?

look mate

if you can buy a radeon x1900gt i m sure you can buy a more decent power supply

the power supply supplied all the juices which run your PC
it is the most important yet the most underrated component of your PC

throw that 300W PSU away, and get at least 500 W one...remember to go in for good brand names one like Antec...and for casual check a heavier one might indicated it to be better. but still get a good branded one.

you will suffocate your PC component slowly by using the 300W..

just imagine if you drive your car at the limit...how long will it last? even if the engine lasted, the other components will fail....

The answer has to be NO...get a higher rated power supply...it is a worthy investment for the long term 500, 550W or more dependent on affordability

No

Connection to the system power supply is required: 450-Watt power supply or greater, 30 Amps on 12 volt rail recommended (assumes fully loaded system) PCI Express compliant power supply required. Connect directly to the power supply with a 6 pin PCI Express power connector. For CrossFire: 550 watt power supply or greater, 38 Amps on 12 volt rail.

It would be very tight, and it would really help if I knew what your processor was, but even if it could run it is not a good idea, because as the power supply ages it loses a bit of power. You can get a 500W power supply for around $60, I would recommend looking into that.

Ha. there is no way that'll run on a 300w means furnish. Can something run that low anymore? also this is no longer a question of operating slower, it is a question of in basic terms burning your motherboard out. without the means, it's going to fry. get the 600w means furnish, it is your minimum requirement for exceptionally a lot something those days.
