i can see my new hard disk in the device manager(the jumpers are on slave position) and in properties everything is ok.the problem is i dont see the new disk when i open "my computer"i just see my (c:)

Although your drive is connected, you need to partition it and format it so your computer can use it.

Right click 'my computer' and select 'manage' then go to 'disk management'

You should see your new disk empty with no partitions - create a partition on this, format it and everything will be good!

Have you tried restarting your computer and entering the BIOS? You need to check that to see if everything is set right. Also, you might try looking up the manual for the motherboard and looking at the manual for the hard drive and make sure you have set everything up right.

if it does show up in device manager, make sure its enabled by right-clicking it and click "enable"...i had a similar problem when i put in a new Ethernet port a few months ago

Go to my computer-control panel and then to add new hardware.
