Have recently bought new pc with 19 in HD monitor. Something got downloaded and I had to restore to factory settings only prob is now the monitor isn't using the whole screen. It's not the rfesolution already tried. The monitor is actingly like a one of those 17 inch old monitors. Is there something that has to be changed for the pc to recognize that I'm using the HD monitor?

OK, so this is what happened, I hooked up all the stuff, mouse, monitor, keyboard, speakers, printer, and the machine won't start up, and the screen just is black. It's not beeping. I have the monitor hooked up with a blue end piece on a cable that comes with it, and plugged into a wall, and the tower. And the tower has a power coard to the wall as well. It's an old one, windows 98, and this is NOT the same computer as my other question. what do i do?

My LCD Monitor has 2 missing pins from the inside of its cable that attaches to the video card. However, I did not think that the missing pins could keep the screen from working. Is it? I have switched out different graphic cards but no picture shows up on my monitor. The monitor does not have the warning "Picture not found!" or anything on the screen. So, missing pins to blame or something else?

Just began using a 22" widescreen monitor, why do some websites pages default to the left side of the monitor, leaving lots of nothing on the right side of the page other than the websites background color, while other websites pages show up in the center of monitor, looking more organized and balanced.

I have an old school Dell computer. Dell Dimension 4100 to be exact... It has a 120 GB extra hard drive on it, plus a high speed internet connection... So basically, what I'm saying, is that it gets the job done. I have a less then one year old Samsung HDTV, and it has HDMI outputs, S-Video output, Y-P- whatver the smurf it is outputs, basically everything you need.... I want my PC monitor to display on the TV. I know I need to get a video card, plus a cord, I got a buddy that is going to hook it all up, I just want to know what people recommend. My computer is definitely not HD, my TV definitely is, and I want something that will optimize the potential between the two... I want to be able to watch my computer movies on my TV... I will either be shopping at Best Buy, or Fry's Electronics (I live in AZ), or on the internet, depending on the responses I get. This is my first time posting on here, any help would be much appreciated. Thanks a lot!

I only have a VGA input on my computer. My TV has 2 HDMI inputs, 3 composite video inputs, 2 S-video inputs and 3 RCA A/V inputs. What type of cable or adapter do I need to connect my computer to the TV? And if there is a cable or adapter, can I buy it at a store (CircuitCity, Bestbuy, RadioShack, Staples etc...)?

If you give me a best answer, you might just get 10 Points!

The problem is that my game's edges look messed up and my computer won't allow me to change it... why is my resolution so high? I have a wide/flat screen monitor and when I tried to put it at 800x600 it looked too big.

It was working fine a few minutes ago, but the monitor blacked out on me and turned off while the computer was still on. (But the on/off monitor button light is yellow like it always is when the computer is off).

So when I try to turn the computer back on, the monitor doesn't do anything (while the computer itself seems to turn/boot up)

Everything is still plugged in.

I don't know what to do.
Please help, thanks.
