Just began using a 22" widescreen monitor, why do some websites default to the left side, others in center

Just began using a 22" widescreen monitor, why do some websites pages default to the left side of the monitor, leaving lots of nothing on the right side of the page other than the websites background color, while other websites pages show up in the center of monitor, looking more organized and balanced.

It all depends on how the designers coded their web site, you can't control it.
