Monitors

I have a notebook with an ATI video card. I have updated the drivers. I see the desktop but not the mouse cursor, the bottom row of buttons (start, etc), or desktop icons. I have adjusted the TV screen size so that I am not overshooting the display on the screen. When I open something on the desktop (e.g. Power Point), the Power Point is seen on my notebook monitor but I only see the desktop on the TV screen. Can I use the s video of the pc to display the pc screen on a TV?

so i just installed an geforce 7600 gt. the video game play is awesom even when played at the highest quality graphics. but my screen seems like has changed resolution. everything seems larger (websites don't fit in the screen, icons seem huge on desktop even when set to 'medium' size) anybody knows how i can fix this?

I have a Compaq Presario SR1020NX that I want have it run 2 monitors on.

I bought a AGP RADEON 9200 TS64MVDR92 64 MB video card assuming I could just plug it into the appropriate place.

The expansion port slots on my computer don't match with the card. The only slots are built for a shorter card and the input slot are a little smaller as well.

So what do I have to do to run 2 monitors properly?

I want to reduce the wideness, because I know in several Desktops you are able to do that since it has buttons in the monitor.

So what do i click, because I have a widescreen computer and i want to make the wideness of it smaller inside the screen.

I have a Pavillion 1616n. My second monitor is my tv, connected by s-video. When i check the box that reads "extend my windows desktop onto this monitor" it unchecks itself after i press "apply changes" or "OK". I just want two monitors so that i can watch movies on one and type on the other. I am baffled. Somebody PLEASE HELP!

I tried LCD's and they just dont compare to CRTs for me. I purchased two very nice LCD HDTV's to use as PC monitors (Samsung & Sharp Aquos 1080p) Neither looked as clear as my 19 inch CRT. Full screen tv shows i downloaded looked blocky and pictures on the internet looked grainy. So anyways I loved the size and want the biggest widescreen CRT I can buy!

The fan is making lots of noises, and I plan on having someone else install a new fan since I cannot figure out how to get the thing out (I see no screws, latches, and pulling doesn't get it out either). I am not trying to be sold but I would like something of better quality than this. How much should I spend? Are there reliable brand names anyone knows of?

Is there any program that I could get that is free and would invert the colors on my screen. I'm looking at a Medical Database I have installed on my computer and I want to look at White text with a black background, not black text with a black background. Black backgrounds are easier on the eyes lol. But anyway, is there any program that would let me invert the colors on my screen?

I have an IBM Think Pad R60. The only output it has other than USb ports is the monitor output. I have a cable that connects to my monitor output that turns it into a s-video. When I connect it to my tv and turn on the monitor output, the tv showes a very fuzzy picture and is in black and white. I have played with the display settings and nothing seems to make it any better they only make it worse of an image on the tv. How do I make it work? Please help!

My laptop is the Compaq 2580US. I can extend the laptop screen via the s-video port to my Vizio LCD HDTV screen, but I can't clone (duplicate) the laptop screen onto the TV, so that the TV would show a larger version of the laptop screen.

it kinda looks funny, when i use my widescreen monitor, i am trying my best to adjust to it. but with the technological advances i am kinda not happy with it. i should have bought a normal 19" instead of a wide 19"

do you have any suggestions on how to use it effectively...

Since vga is synonymous to the resolution 640x480 how can computer monitors and hdtvs still use the vga connector to display much higher resolutions?
