The fan is making lots of noises, and I plan on having someone else install a new fan since I cannot figure out how to get the thing out (I see no screws, latches, and pulling doesn't get it out either). I am not trying to be sold but I would like something of better quality than this. How much should I spend? Are there reliable brand names anyone knows of?

Thanks!

If you are not sure HOW to get the fan out simply take the PC to a shop (small PC shop is best) and ask them to do it.

If you are talking about your CPU fan, it is important to do some research here. You have to know your CPU and socket type as not all fans fit all computers. Find out if you are AMD or Intel and the socket (775, AM2, etc) . Once you know, the three major brands are Thermaltake, Zalman and Arctic. All 3 make very effective fans designed for your motherboard and CPU. Also know your case size as the some fans can take up more room inside your case then your stock fan did.

Good luck.
