Well i downloaded the newest driver for my video card and all the stuff like control centre, i found out it now wouldnt let me change it to 1440,900 resolution that is NEEDED becuz im using a widescreen monitor which without that looks like crap and all stretched. So then i fixed it in properties by unchecking (hide refresh rates this monitor cant display or w/e) and i put sum 47 interlaced, it now let me change my resolution to 1440,900, good but now my refresh rate is 35 (INTERLACED) and res is 1440,900, any way to improve my refresh rate by not changing resolution? And what is interlaced?

I have always been able to place my cursor in the lower right corner of screen on the time, and the date would appear. For instance, place cursor on 9:30 a.m, and above it would appear the date, June 23. Now, I can just barely see the top of it, not near enought to see the date. How do I fix this? I have WindowsXP.

I'm told that a patch can be downloaded free in order to effectively cover and hide what I call 'bluespot' (a pixel or cluster of pixels) which appears on an otherwise perfectly 'clean' screen. It is ice blue in colour and stands out upon the black background! Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Got myself a new Videocard (Winfast PX-8800 Nvidia) only to discover that the screen wont "boot up" properly. First the led indicator turns green like normal then it says "power saving mode" and it turns yellow. Then it turns green again but there's no image what so ever. I can still hear that windows boots up ok if i let it boot all the way. Tried both monitor ports on the card. +12v cable is connected. Flashed the BIOS but no luck. My comp works perfectly with my old card PNY Nvidia 7900GT.

I took my new videocard to my friend who has the same one and it worked there?! Now, my friend has a CRT 19" screen and i have a 19" TFT. I read through the motherboard manual and doesnt seem like theres any jumpers i shall move or anything considering mother board supports SLI. (M2N-Plus SLI Vista Edition, Nforce Nvidia 500).

I'm starting to suspect it's my motherboard that is defect? Any suggestions? Please help, this is very frustrating!

Hello, I am working on a computer and the owner of the computer has a strange problem. The vertical sides of the viewing screen are somewhat curved in. This only happens on one of the two computers she has. This monitor does not have a control for that, atleast I didn't find it. Does anyone have an idea on what to do?

I've just bought an LG 19" monitor and it has no built-inn speakers, nor sockets other than mains power and blue PC connection.

I have Creative Labs Speakers (I-Trigue 3300 2.1) but no guide booklet, and there is nowhere to plug the green and blue wires that come from the speakers, at the back of the monitor. My old monitor had two sockets for the purpose!?

Can I plug the speakers at the back of the PC? How do I get sound out of the dang thing?

I offered the idea to my grandmother to get a new computer monitor because it takes up too much space. So I went to BestBuy.ca (since she is a Canadian Resident) and found a monitor. Then I went to see how much it would cost for a Geek Squad person to do it. WAYY too much.
I am the computer techie in the family and everyone asks me to do stuff to the computers. Is it possible for me, a 13 year old girl, to hook up a new monitor? I am very good with computers and done many things but not this. I usually have a little help from my parents but my dad is in Napa Valley on his honeymoon and mom is back at home.

Can I do it? Or is it just best to pay up the money to get it done for us?

What can I do about a monitor that continuously shrinks, horizontally the screen image?
I initially doubted the software but when a hefty smash on the monitor case rectifies the problem for a minute or two I`m not too sure.
