Hiya Sara,

Yes, No, maybe so but I would take a really close look at the little tiny pins inside the end of the monitor cable. It seems like someone accidentally bent or crossed one over to the next. You will need a very small pair of needle-nose pliers to straighten it without damaging anything. My opinion anyway.

GOOD LUCK!!

UPDATE: Well, yes straighten the pins if they are bent or touching. If you are not used to doing working with very small things, find someone steady of hand and eye of Eagle to straighten for you, a licensed pish posh will cost you at least $65.00...for what?

Also, please give more details so we can nail this down. What have you tried, what kind of monitor, etc..
Cya

Unplug the monitor and re-plug it back again firmly, sound like a loose connection on the monitor plug.
