I'm told that a patch can be downloaded free in order to effectively cover and hide what I call 'bluespot' (a pixel or cluster of pixels) which appears on an otherwise perfectly 'clean' screen. It is ice blue in colour and stands out upon the black background! Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

If its a dead pixel, they reckon from 1 - 7 is acceptable. I haven't heard of software to patch them.

Yep...a dead pixel. There is software out there that claims to fix it, but it didn't work for me. It's a shame you can't get it fixed. 1-7 dead pixels as being 'acceptable' is a horrible thing. It's like buying a new car with 1-7 dents and being told it's acceptable because the car still runs.
