There are many reasons for this. First reason, you may have a virus or spyware on ypur computer. I suggested you to instal the lates antivirus program such as AVG or Avast and spyware remove program such as AD-Aware. Both programs are free to download and use. The second reason that you have different settings in your control panel. How to solve this problem? Let's go step by step. Open Control Panel, then go to the icon wich have a battery and power cable as simbol (I do not know the name of icon in English because I use Xp in Slovene language). Open it. If you use Windows Xp you will se the line turn off hard drive after "some time" and then click the button apply after you choosed the apropiate setting. If you still have a problem, please contact me.

More than likely there is a burned out fan and your PC's overheating which would shut down your PC.
or there are to many devices than your power supply can handle.
Another thing that could cause this is Windows automatic updates which require an automatic reboot!

It could be a number of things from a faulty power cable to the motherboard short circuiting or just an electrical fault on your machine. Best thing to do first is if you've got a spare power supply try that and if that fails get someone just to check it out for you.

could be overheating. Check the fans. If a laptop - make sure you are usingit on a hard surface to get ventilation. If desktop you may need to get a fan that clips on the CPU chip to keep it cool.
