I have a saphire radeon x1600 pro video card, and I just recently bought a Princeton VL1919 monitor. My problem is, every 30 or so minutes the computer will freeze for 10 seconds, be fine for 5 seconds, then freeze for 5 more seconds, followed by heavy stuttering for around 20 seconds. Ive updated my video drivers about 4 times since I got this monitor, and none of them fixed or even helped the problem. As a gamer, this is a pretty big problem. Does anyone know what is going on? If I change monitors it works fine.

Since I can't afford an LCD yet, I plan to get a flat non-LCD one. These have almost the same prices (the 17inch is just $17 higher) and are within my budget:

15" LG Flatron T530SAK

or

17" AOC 7F Flat

What should I go for? I mean I'm looking for quality, not just screen size. Which is more long-lasting and less prone to breakage/problems? My current monitor has been serving me for almost 4 years and I want the replacement to live up to the expectation.

I was able to velcro my mac mini to the back of my monitor, this is the most convenient position for me, to free upspace, plus the velco holds VERY sturdy, im not worried about the mac mini falling off, but should i be concerned about the computer being so close to the back of the monitor? My monitor does not heat up, but the mac mini does when left on for a long period of time, or when burning/reading cds/dvds. will heat do anything to either the monitor or the mac if they are attached to each other with velcro?

I am going to buy a new monitor, mostly for fast action gaming, I am trying to decide between a CRT flat screen or a LCD. A guy at work has a Dell ultrascan p1110 CRT, its huge, but has great picture, and is 21", what I am looking for, I can get one for $100. . Best buy currently has a MAG 19" wide screen LCD for $160, looks nice, but the guy at the store said the contrast ratio was low at 1600:1, so it wouldnt be very sharp and bad for gaming. but the dell CRT is only 200:1, but looks very sharp and very clear, plus the price is good. Size does not matter to me. What is the better choice?

I have a dell brand flat screen monitor for years and it was working great. Then a couple months ago something weird started happening. After I turn the monitor off and try to turn it on, it goes off. I have to keep pressing the on and off button on the monitor because if will start up but then black out or turn off again and this process repeats! It takes like 20 times of me pressing the on and off button before it goes on and stays on! It will eventually stay on but only after like 20 times of pressing the on and off button and it's very annoying and as long as I don't turn the monitor off it stays on and works fine. What is going on? I checked everything on the computer and I even reset the monitors settings but it didn't help, it never did this before it's odd. Does this mean it's breaking down and I have to go buy a new monitor or do I have it on some weird setting that is making it do this?!? HELP!!!!

For the past two days my monitor will randomly turn black for 0.5 seconds, or make a clicking sound and then turn off and then immediately on again. It keeps doing these when you least expect it. Usually when I'm just near the computer, but no on it.

I have NEC MultiSync 75 CRT 17" monitor.

It's fairly new and in perfect condition. I have never had a problem with it.

I changed the power coord, and blew in the holes of it, and also reconnected my video card, so hopefully it goes away. So far so good, but like I said, it's random and could come when I least expect it.

I don't know if this is why my monitor has been acting up but I have been also getting a CMOS error whenever I unplug my computer and turn it on. I have to press F1 to continue. Some say I need a new battery for my computer.

Could this be the cause of my monitor behaviour?

My new dell desktop features a wide flat screen monitor that distorts on the horizontal axis, notably fonts in Outlook. I searched for a way to adjust this in Appearance Settings, but haven't found one.

Everything else seems to be fine. But every so often, the entire screen will flash yellow. It's like somebody put yellow cellophane in front of the screen. I notice it when I open some things, like the Internet (Mozilla Firefox) or Microsoft Word. But at other times it's completely random. This next part has only happened once, but I left the computer on and it went idle. After that, I moved the mouse, and everything on my computer screen was the same yellow color! I didn't move the mouse or push any keys, but I left for a minute, and when I came back, the screen was normal again. Does this mean my computer is about to crash, or does it mean that I just need a new monitor? Please help me! I can't find anything else on the Internet that says anything about this!
