My 7 year old 21" CRT monitor has just died. It had served me well, but now I need a new monitor that can replace it.

I'm looking for a newer high quality 19-22" LCD that has been REVIEWED (please give a link) and considered to have relatively good color reproduction and general image quality compared to lesser LCDs. It should be good enough so that a CRT user would not be too annoyed to look at it.

It should have DVI-D and HDCP. Lack of ghosting would be a plus.

i want to know, or if somebody knows a proof about this>> which one saves the monitor's life (CRT)
-----Letting it go on standby after few minutes or
-----Just letting it open even without use (usually while downloading or afk for several hours)?

I spend about 2 hours a day behind my computer desktop doing Internet search . I use either CRT, or LCD monitor.
I am 53 years of age and I find that my eyesight is getting
worse. I blame it on the computer monitors becauthey release too much radiation.

Should I buy an Overhead - Desk - Projector or a Digital Projector? Is it practical to use a projector on my P.C for Internet research? Are they easy to read? Do they emmit too much radiation?

I intend to buy a new computer soon with Core2 duo chip and nVidia grahic card to run Windows Home Premium. Due to budget constraint I intend to use my current Dell CRT monitor and upgrade to a LCD monitor later. I will use the computer to surf the net, run Microsoft Office and play some games. Will I encounter any problem using the old CRT monitor.

i'm confused, i thought LCD monitors just emit less radiation than CRT monitors do, then i saw this site that said that LCD monitors do not emit radiation, but then again, i saw the figures in this URL http://www.comp.nus.edu.sg/~tanrw/cs1105/analysis_results.html that said LCD monitors emit radiation too.please help.

The picture quality on my computer really took a nosedive recently. Now my pictures look very grainy and pixelized (?) I wonder what happened and what I can do with an upgrade or something else to correct this problem. My operating system is Windows XP Home. Robert Scott

I am having to use an old monitor at the moment as our flat screen has blown up!!
We seem to be having a problem with fitting what is on the screen all on the screen in one go. We have to keep pushing the edges of the screen to enable us to see what is on the whole page - if that explains it a little better.
Could anyone help us by telling us what we need to do to adjust the screen settings so we can see the whole page in one go ionstead of having to push all around the edges in different directions to see it all. We use Windows XP home edition.
I hope you understand what I am trying to explain.
Thanks,
Jane.

I know 1080p is 1920x1080 progressive. Does that mean 1920x1200 is better? Also, if you look at http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8260534&type=product&productCategoryId=pcmcat104900050012&id=1170289357971 (a 1920x1200 Acer monitor), they say nothing about 1080p, as opposed to the Gateway at http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Gateway-24-Widescreen-Monitor-FPD2485W/sem/rpsm/oid/166293/catOid/-12965/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do. Is it just a different way of displaying the same information, or is the Acer not progressive? What is going on here? Could you straighten this out?

I have some smears and such on my labtop screen....not sure how you get them off without hurting the screen. I looked in the handbook for my computer and they didn't say anything on how to clean it. Any suggestions? I was thinking maybe a micro cloth.....but that doesn't get the smears off.
Thanks,
R.S.

My Viewsonic UltraBrite A90f+ is blinking out on me, and I paid to fix it once before. I just don't think it's worth keeping. So, I'm looking for suggestions on a flat screen LCD with comparable clarity and color accuracy, as I am a digital photography hobbyest. I'd like to get out for around $400 or better. Any suggestions

I am a cad draftsmen and looking at buying a number of monitors to run on one computer. What i am am actualy doing is building a cad work station in the center of the station will be a steel modleing station that is stand alone. Then i want to build a cad application station. With the ability to run 4 monitors. 2 to the right and 2 to the left of the main system screen.
So my question is this when running a dual or quad system monitor. Do you have the ability to run different applications on each monitor. And let say i am viewing 3 different PDF files can i open all three at once. And be running autocad on the other monitor. You get the idea. Thanks for you input.
