Pictures on my computer suddenly lost much of their resolution and look very grainy. What can I do?

The picture quality on my computer really took a nosedive recently. Now my pictures look very grainy and pixelized (?) I wonder what happened and what I can do with an upgrade or something else to correct this problem. My operating system is Windows XP Home. Robert Scott

you might need a new monitor, or video card. either of those could be found at a local Best Buy or any computer store. check it out first though, try and call windows help service and see what they say.

Hi. If you use an LCD screen, try setting your resolution to the native resolution of the monitor (the number of pixels wide x number high).
