I would like to purchase NVidia GeForce 6600 128 MB Graphics card having maximun resolution of 2048 × 1536 at 85Hz.

BUT my LG 15" CRT Monitor supports a maximum resolution of 1024 X 768 at 60Hz. Will I be able to run Vista at 1600 X 1200 resolution at that Monitor?

Hi all, recently I asked around about not able to play full screen games and some commented that it was my graphics card problem. However, after i tried to reformat last night, i tried changing the resolution and slide it to more than 800x600, I was unable to, the whole monitor turns black and showing a msg above. I was unable to even restart my comp or unplug and plug back remains the same message. So I tried it over on my dad's lcd which was 17" and it works fine with resolution, works fine with games full screen. Im using Samsung 913V 19" LCD, my dad's 17" Samsung LCD. It works fine on his, now I am unable to change my resolution and whenever i did, it turns black and gets hanged or msg appears. I do not experience such problem 2months ago when i reformatted and a year back when i bought the comp, can someone tell me the prob? Cos if its graphics, I wouldnt be able to use it on 17".I changed the settings and back to 19" but it doesnt work either.

What's your experience with dual LCD screens? Does it drop the resolution? Will the toolbars span across the two screens? I noticed there will be a split between the two screens. Is it better to get one large screen instead? I use it for excel and word documents.

I just bought my new monitor (specs here: http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=HW-191DP-R&cat=MON ) and hooked it up, via analog connection, to my new dell and the photo quality is good but not great (graphic quality is fine). I know you give a little going to a flat monitor vs a typical glass-encased one, but before I give up and return the monitor I'd like to understand why its not great - is it the Contrast Ratio? my graphics card and not hooking it up via a digital connection? is there any specification you see that you think is deficient?

I just reinstalled Windows 2K and now every time I start up, it is in safe mode. The display is all funky and grainy and when I try to reset the monitor/color resolution the max it shows is 800X600 when it should be 1024X768. This is driving me nuts.....which apparently is not a long trip.......Give me my screen and normal resolution back please......Thanks in advance.

I've been using CRT monitors since forever, but lately i've been thinking about replacing it with a lcd because it's a space saver and it doesn't heat up as much.
I wanna know what would i be giving up when switching to LCD from CRT? and what should i be aware of when i go out to buy it?
by the way, i use the computer for long hours straight if that counts.

Hey guys, my old laptop's motherboard got fried, but I'm fairly certain the monitor still works. I was able to salvage the hard drive, but I have no idea how to separate the laptop screen from the body, let alone wire it up to where it'll work with my current laptop. Please help me out with some tips or give me some good links where I can research this stuff!! ^__^ thanks!

I am considering getting a Dell E228WFP 22" LCD monitor. Its native resolution is 1680x1050 pixels. Unfortunately, my graphics card (dual 7800GTXs in SLI) do not support that resolution natively. The only other resolution that is supported by my graphics card with the same aspect ratio is 1280x800. I have two questions: 1) Will the LCD look decent with non-native resolution? and 2) Would it be possible to use a resolution with a slightly different aspect ratio like 1900x1200?

I found an LG that has a 3000:1 contrast with 2ms refresh.
And a Samsung thats 1000:1 Contrast with 5ms refresh.

Which is better? The Samsung is more expensive, but both are LCD and 19in. And...I kinda need to know fast cause my monitor bit the big one.
