The TV output is intended for using your TV as a PC monitor, not for using your monitor to view TV.

I have a 32 inch HDTV i use normal VGA monitor cable to connect it too my PC the normal RCA cables that come with my video card make the picture fuzzy DVI cables gives the best picture 1080! is awesome on DVI cables

You need something to plug the antenna (or VCR, etc.) into, as in a TV tuner or similar.

Have a look at Titantv.com and see if perhaps your software will work with them. I think you'll still need a tuner though.
