It's a relatively new technology, but you can send video and audio wirelessly to any TV. See my source below on just some cheap ways of transmitting the audio/video this way.
BTW - you would need a video card that had an output of S-Video or composite outputs to do the 2 options below.

If you want to connect the TV with out changing anything on the computer, you can use something like this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814100010
That product connect to your monitor cable and can then plug into any TV.
If you don't mind changing your computer, I would suggest a new video card that has "S-video Out". If you have that, you can make the TV act like a second monitor or you can configure it to show the exact same thing as your monitor.
If you want to use the TV as the ONLY monitor, the first option is probably the best because many video cards that do support S-video out, do not do it by default so you will need a regular monitor to set up the S-video out, and then the TV would work. The first option is a stand-alone hardware device that ALWAYS displays the screen on the TV and it requires NO software.

It relies upon what connections your television has and what connections your pc has. listed below are the undemanding posibilities: - HDMI (fairly recent) - DVI - VGA - S-VIDEO i'm no longer able to think of of any others off the actual of my head. Use the link interior the sources record to discover photographs - in case you have been to pass into, say, between the above innovations accompanied by ' cable', you will fairly probably get an excellent style of effects. by how, I positioned my record above interior the order i might want - the proper being on the actual. wish that enables

you would need a vga cable.its a 15 prong connection that goes into the back of a tv.the tv will probably say something like pc input or along those lines.as far as what kinda of tv to get.i would stick to an LCD.ive heard that the DLP's or projection tv's dont look as sharp.just make sure that the tv you buy has that pc input.just look for a slot that has 15 tiny holes.

You need a high quality one since typical standard definition monitors lack the speed and bandwidth needed for good images from the computer. Most HDTV monitors come with a computer input that you could use and with the refresh rate and bandwidth needed.
