It's like they said at the shop, it's the fans.

But, you can always purchase quieter fans from an online store. Try this one:

My pc, a home built machine, has 5 fans, three built into the case, front top and back, one on the cpu and on on the graphics card.

Everything is overclocked by 10%, hence why all the fans, most high end machines will have a similar number.

However mine is not particulaly loud, I only really here the fan built into the front of the case. As suggested Fan upgrades may be the way forward.

Most computers only have one or two fans. All you have to do to see how many it has. Is open up the side of it, and look and see how many fans it has. Why you are at it if you see a whole bunch of dust i would buy a can of air from wal-mart about 5-6 dollars and clean it out. Other wise the dust will cause the computer to over heat and fry.

I used this one guy for computer services once he was really nice and answers a lot of questions. I would check out his website.

www.bigghome.com and i looked on the site, this is his screen name for yahoo. mechanic1165@yahoo.com

Good Luck and i hope this helps.

I don't know any thing about you & you have not informed in your question either. The sound is there because PC fan is running at very high speed. What vendor told you, I am not bothered about that because, under what circumstances & conditions and also terms of warranty you bought, than only it can be negotiated. Let me tell you, your CPU fan is making noise at high RPM due to over heating of CPU. If you know & can than clean the heatsink after de assembling the CPU unit with fan, heat sink & paste, the medium giving best
conduction for heat decipation.

5 fans is a lot of fans.

Is this a high end machine? They tend to run hotter, and so need more cooling.

Also, you can replace the fans with quieter ones. Noise is measured in dB, the lower the dB the quieter the fan is.

most pcs have only 1 or some times 2 fans... if they are that loud you may want to get your pc cleaned. Mine was full of dust and the fans never stoped runnning

That is normal. The fans are loud but keep the computer from crashing and keep it working properly.
