I'm considering getting a DVI cable to hook my monitor up to my computer, rather than the old VGA cable I'm currently using. Will using a DVI cable have any effect on picture quality? Will movies look better on my monitor?

I noticed my lap top´s monitor heating up a bit too much but it´s not all of it , just the part where the windows task bar is, i wonder why this happens and if it is normal. It´s so hot that it burns when you touch it. What do I do, could it be dangerous or get damaged?.

Computer Properties:
-AMD 64bit Processor 3400+
-NVidia G-Force FX 5900XT
-1 Gig SDRAM
-Win XP w/ sp2

TV Properties:
-Sanyo 24 inch true flat screen (DS24425)

Cable being used is a 6' DVI to HD. When I change the input on the TV to "Component In" I get a brief picture of my computer, but the display is fuzzy and everything is a reddish, almost pink color. I ran the video setup to detect the tv, but same problem.

Ok my computer has a cable which plugs it into a regular TV (its not monitor)
anyways i have plugged it in and whenever windows starts the tv gets flashes on it and when i search for the TV with the NIVIDIA program which came with my graphix card it showed that the TV wasent there but when i searched on the program the TV flashes also.
The tv does not show anything but whenever something happens like the pc trying to connect to the monitor, the tv flashes.
I want to know what is causing the tv just to flash and not show the pc's desktop ect...
Could it be that the wire is broken or something?

When I bootup the computer it doesn't show anything on the LCD monitor. I hit the contrast buttons and the monitor will flicker on and off and show information on the screen. Do you think the LCD display has gone out or maybe it is a short? I tried pressing other keys around that area and it doesn't appear to be a short. Any advice be appreciated. If anybody knows of an LCD repair site on the Internet please let me know.

Hi,
I have an AOC widescreen LCD monitor that is around 22 inches wide. The picture is horrible. I think that there must be a resolution problem. I went into my properties>settings and it says that it's on 1280x1024. Isn't this for a standard screen, not a widescreen? There is no higher setting, everything else that is a lower resolution looks worse. The picture is stretched and there are "redraw " issues as Microsoft calls them, when my computer redraws underlying areas of the screen incorrectly when I move or resize windows. I have gone through the whole troubleshoot thing. Nothing. Any ideas?

I have a laptop and want to run 2 external 20" monitors. The monitors do 1680x1050 resolution.

what is a good external box to use for this? I know there is the Matrox dual head, but the resolution doesn't seem to match my needs. I would think I need something that supports 3360x1050. Any devices out there that would acomplish this?

First time buying an LCD, it's 20", viewsonic.
My concern is that when looking from different angles, the brightness changes (quite) and it's almost like I have to be at a straight angle to get a "normal" look. Is that normal for LCd's? or should I look into replacing this one with a higher end? thanks!

How do I hook my pc and xbox360 into a kzm switch correctly, so that I can switch between using my pc monitor for both my pc and my xbox360?

A few months ago, Microsoft came up with a vga a/v cable that can be used to hook the xbox360 up to a pc monitor with.
http://www.xbox.com/en-US/hardware/x/xbox360vgahdcable/

I would like to hook both my pc and xbox360 into my monitor, and have heard I have to use a kvm switch in order to do that. However, I am new to hooking consoles into pc monitors, as well as to using kvm switches.
