Well, you probably meant that when u turn on your computer your monitor goes into standby mode? or maybe not, since YOU PUT NO EXPLANATION,.
anywyas, it migth be that the resolution you are trying to display is out of reach for the monitor

If you happen to not be using the computer at the moment it goes into Stand By mode, it may be because it's a power saving feature.
You may be able to adjust this, as well as other settings, from the menu on your moniter.

Check the refresh rate...and resolution..don't use higher resolution than your monitor's max resolution...
