Cable being used is a 6' DVI to HD. When I change the input on the TV to "Component In" I get a brief picture of my computer, but the display is fuzzy and everything is a reddish, almost pink color. I ran the video setup to detect the tv, but same problem.

Unless your TV has a computer input or your TV has a video output it is not going to work.

PCs work with RGB the values of the red green and blue intensities are sent on three seperate signals.

Component video is also three signals, but for historical reasons is is sent as Y Pr Pb - Intensity and two colour channels.

So even if you connect the two there is a mismatch in the signal form.

So connecting a R G B signal to a Y Pr Pb input:

A red block will appear white.
A yellow block (R+G) appears bright red,
A cyan block (G+B) will actually be a coloured black (full colour information, but no intensity)

Generally TVs produce really bad images for PCs. They are fine for the dynamic lower resolution signals you get from a video feed, but for the static higher resolution images from a PC you will find out why computer monitors cost a lot more than the same sized tube.

you need:

1. a SCART block( if you want too have sound comming form your TV)

2. an audio cable( if you want too have sound comming form your TV)
3. S-Video cable ( it could be that your GPU is too weak for this, if that is true, use the SCARTblock)

but the 2 audio outputs in the SCART block( whitch you putted in the back of your TV)
put the S-video cable in the back of your TV
