I don't have a PS3 but my understanding of the HDMI connection is that it is part of the security model to prevent hijacking the HD (HiDef) output being intercepted and saved unencrypted/unprotected. I also believe that if HDMI isn't guaranteed from system-cable-output display the output stream is down sampled to a lower resolution. Given that, it seems reasonable that you should be able to use the adapter.

It should work just fine. If I am not mistaken, the PS3 has full support for PC monitors.

Well it has a 3 year warranty no matter what. Try setting the game resolution lower and play it. I know it can handle 1080p, but just try it out, ok?

It should work but you won't have sound unless you have speakers built into the monitor.

I can't see why not unless you experiment it yourself.

Monitor should act like TV.

Make sure you have the right converter for your cable.

Yes my PC monitor will, but my laptop monitor won't. Have fun and enjoy.
